About

ABOUT BRIAN

My first job out of college was advertising director for a group of clothing stores in Bloomington, Indiana. I wrote my first greeting card (it was actually a Father’s Day advertisement that we printed in the local paper) when I was there. Little did I know that it would be the beginning of a love affair between a young man and his typewriter. (This was 1979 and my Adler electric typewriter was a valued friend.) I believed that one day my work would find a home. I wrote what I hoped would become greeting cards by night and worked in advertising agencies by day. Thankfully, I had the full support of a loving wife who still to this day is my best friend, mother of our two grown sons and my in-house editor of cards worthy of submitting.

In 1989, I signed a contract with Recycled Paper Greetings in Chicago. Today, millions of my greeting cards have been sold throughout the U.S. and Canada. Each one is written by me and designed by an artist hand-selected from a group of artists/illustrators/graphic designers who make my words come to life.

Collectively, we have the following greeting card lines exclusive to Recycled Paper Greetings: I Believe; The Little Cardmakers;
Speaking of the Heart; and Along The Way.
